The No-Salt, Lowest-Sodium Light Meals Book
272 pages soups, salads, breads, sandwiches, spice mix recipes and lots of info.
In 1997, Don Gazzaniga was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. His doctor was ready to sign him up for a heart transplant. Don responded by creating a large selection of recipes that never went above five hundred milligrams of sodium a day. That’s all! And the recipes were delicious. This book contains Don and Maureen’s recipes for lighter fare: soups, salads and dressings, and sandwiches. It provides a wide array of choices for those who want to dramatically lower their sodium intake without losing taste. It is the third in their series of five no salt, low sodium books.
About Maureen
"She is well-known for her soups and salad dressings as well as her dishes from south of the border." Maureen developed her cooking skills early in life, "And I never stopped." She loves to travel and test
restaurant recipes, jotting down notes and memorizing the good presentations. Then once home, she's immediately at the stove duplicating without salt and salted ingredients what she thought the master chefs had produced and writing them down.
The soups and salads in this book come from many of those experiences.
